Annual Service

An annual service is advised, many people would assume not much needs to be done to a brass instrument but apart from maintaining to help stop slides and valves sticking, the importance of cleaning inside and out for hygiene reasons cannot be understated.

A service involves the instrument being stripped, washed and brushed out, with ultrasonic cleaning for instrument parts (Up to Flugelhorn for instrument body), polish the body, lap valves where needed, replace springs and water key corks where needed, remove any accessible dents, stuck slides/valves and mouthpieces. Reassemble whilst oiling valves and greasing slides.

Additional Services

Repair of any dry solder joints – price can be agreed based on an estimate of the time required

Patching – any worn areas or splits in the tubing can be patched – as above an estimate of the work can be provided before any work is carried out.

Trombone dent removal and slide alignment and calibration can be offered if there are issues with the slide and assessed on an individual basis. An estimate of the work can be provided before any work is carried out.

Major Dent Removal

Any minor and accessible dents can be removed during a full service or overhaul, but dent removal (including bell creases) is also offered either as a stand-alone service or can be added to an annual service.  Please call to discuss your requirements; an assessment of the work required can be offered using photographs in order to quote accurately.
